Mac Leopard: iCal Won't Highlight Current Day in Month View

Recently I noticed that iCal on my MacBook would no longer highlight the current day. In addition the colors just didn't look right. I couldn't put my finger on what was different but it was noticeable. After digging around I found this setting under System Preferences/Universal Access/Seeing tab:
It appears what happened was that I had inadvertently hit the keystroke combination which increased the contrast for my display. Once I moved the slider back to normal everything looked great again, and my current day was visible in the month view of iCal.
